DEENA CLOSE COMMUNITY projects

Please let us know your thoughts on the following suggestions for enhancing Deena Close as a place to live for homeowners and residents. Select from the drop down menu options to indicate whether you are strongly for, for, neutral, against or strongly against each of the potential projects listed below. We will be discussing the results of the survey at the upcoming AGM.

1. Improvements to the communal area (in the centre of the Close) - for example the addition of plants through the installation of raised beds, the replacing or cleaning of the pavers etc. This project could be financed from existing funds and would not require an increase in annual maintenance charges. A proposed design with costing would be put to a further homeowner vote once sufficient interest in the project was established.

2. Installation of CCTV for improved security. A security firm would be engaged to manage the project. Challenges around the siting of cameras and the privacy of residents and the public. The installation costs could be financed from existing funds whilst the operating costs may require a re-allocation of capital flows between operations and investments or an increase in annual maintenance charges. A proposed design with costing would be put to a further homeowner vote once sufficient interest in the project was established.

3. Conversion of the Close to a private gated community - the installation of automated gates at the entrance to the Close for improved security. This is a long term major project which would require the adoption of the road (with associated costs) and the agreement, we believe, of every homeowner in the Close. The costs would necessitate an increase in the annual maintenance charge in order to facilitate. A proposed design with costing would be put to a further homeowner vote once sufficient interest in the project was established.

4. Hosting of an annual summer party in the communal area with drink and some food provided.
